Nunchuk...

Ca y est, la voiture avance, recule et tourne, le tout grâce à un nunchuk! I2C résoud pas mal de problèmes d'ailleurs, ça simplifie pas mal les choses!

En attendant de résoudre le problème des piles (poids/puissance/tension) je vais commencer à coder sérieusement la partie logicielle!

Here it is, the car moves forward, backward and turns, controlled by a nunchuk! I2C solves a lot of problems by the way, it simplifies things a bit!

While trying to solve the battery problem (weight/power/voltage) I'm going to code the software part!

L'écran LCD fait maintenant partie de la voiture! Là aussi, quelle galère pour tout connecter! Mais ca fonctionne!

The LCD screen's now a part of the car! There too, what a mess to get everything connected properly! But it works!

Direction assistée/power Steering

La direction est terminée. Moyennant un petit hack des deux servos Futaba que j'ai acheté, ca marche pas trop mal. Même plutôt bien. Par chance, l'entraxe vertical et horizontal des fixations des servos correspond pile poil à celui des legos!

Steering's now finished. Using a little hack of the two futaba servo I bought, it works not so bad. Pretty weel in fact.By chance, vertical & horizontal distance between the holes of the servo's fastening system fits lego bricks!

Moteurs, premier essai.

Premier essai du SN754410, alias Quadruple pont en H, pour contrôler un moteur. Pas facile facile, surtout quand on perd 45mn à chercher ce qui ne va pas alors que la puce n'est pas alimentée -_-''
En tout cas maintenant ca marche.
Autre chose: un nouvel arduino plus balèze ne va pas tarder à arriver, le Duemilanove aura du mal à tenir la route avec tout ce que je compte lui faire subir...plus à venir.

First test of the SN754410, aka Quad H Bridge, in order to drive a motor. Not so easy, especially when you spend 45mn searching what's wrong while the chip's not powered -_-''
Anyway it's working now.
BTW: another more powerful arduino will soon arrive, the Duemilanove will have trouble coping with what I plan for it...more to come.

J'ai finalement recu les moteurs qui me manquaient pour faire vivre ma petite création. Après quelques recherches, voici un lien qui regroupe toutes les informations nécessaires pour mettre en route le petit précieux ;)

Un petit conseil: couper le câble et le souder à un connecteur permet de l'utiliser plus facilement avec le breadboard.

Finally I received my motors needed to make my creation come alive. After a few researches, here's a link that gathers everything you need to operate the precious ;)

A little piece of advice: cutting the cable and soldering it to a pin connector allow it to be used more easily with a breadboard.

Arduino, projet 8880

voici l'idée: La base est la 8880 des chez Lego, alias "Supercar" (voir la photo plus bas). Le but est:
1. de la motoriser
2. de la rendre autonome.
Elle intégrera donc l'arduino, l'écran LCD pour communiquer avec ~~l'utilisateur~~ le pilote, un capteur de lumière (pour allumer les phares bien sûr!), des capteurs de distance...
Ici quelques photos de l'intégration de l'arduino à la voiture...

Here's the ideas: the base it Lego's 8880, known as the "supercar" (see pictures below). The aim is:
1. to motorize it
2. to make it autonomous.
It will ths integrate the arduino, the LCD display to communicate with the ~~user~~ driver, a light sensor (to turn the lights on of course!), distance sensors...

Arduino, essai n°2

Ce coup ci on passe à la vitesse supérieure! Une peu plus de câblages afin de contrôler un périphérique un peu plus complexe, un écran LCD. Là aussi je me suis basé sur l'exemple présent dans Fritzing (toujours le même!). N'ayant par contre pas de potard sous la main, j'ai mis des résistances en parallèle...c'est moche, mais ca marche!
Ca m'a quand même pris presque deux heures avec les datasheets de l'écran pour réussir à le faire fonctionner...mais quelle satisfaction!

This time let's shift to the next gear! A bit more of wirework in order to control a bit more complex device: an LCD display! Here again I used fritzing's examples. I had no potentiometer to hand, so I used a parallel association of resistors...crappy, but it works!
It took me almost two hours, using the LCD's datasheets, to get it working....but what a satisfaction!

Premier essai avec l'Arduino, je me suis contenté de suivre les tutoriaux présents dans l'excellent Fritzing (http://fritzing.org/). Le but ici consiste à faire s'allumer des LEDs les unes à la suite des autres.
Pas si complexe, mais c'est un bon début!

My very first attempt with the arduino, I just followed Fritzing's examples (http://fritzing.org). The point is to turn on LEDs one after one. Not so complex, but it's only the beginning!
